Clearing mines in Afganistan??

In 1944 we had 'Flail Tanks' to clear mines off the beaches for the invasion. My question is: Why cannot these be used in Afganistan?? I may be thick, but I would have thought, this would be better...

what would happen is a bloke in his mid 40s head buts a 12 year old boy and get charged with a suspened sentence then the older brother finds him and has a fight with him but no one was really badly...
