Top Gear's Clarkson in more cack!
After last nights howler about a burka it seems that Jezza is being warned to expect attacks from the followers of the religion of peace. Why can't they take a joke?

Actually, talking about underwear, my mum used to work in a knicker factory years ago. One of their biggest customers was an Arab bloke. Not sure whether his wife/wives were burka wearers or not though, but it generated quite a few non-PC jokes among the workforce.

jno, I was going to say the same thing. Clarkson is dreadfully un-PC, we know that, but women like nice undies whether they are wearing shorts or religious cover-ups. They're not abstemious, only extremely modest outside the home. If Clarkson saw me fall over in the street I doubt he'd get excited about my underwear. Sounds like he's being his usual inappropriate self, to get a laugh, about something which is - well, normal.
Muslim women dress like anybody else in private; many are keen on fashion, and many have lots to spend on it. Clarkson may just be one of those people who think even saying 'Muslim' is hilarious. Fifty years ago he'd have been trying to raise a laugh from the words 'mother in law'.
I went to a Muslim friend's BBQ at the weekend; among friends she was wearing a long boob tube and short skirt. Clarkson would have gone pop with excitement.

I suspect, Gromit, that someone only has to say the word Burka and someone else will go "ooh, he'd better watch out" - it was a stupid and pointless thing to say in the first place, as we're all agreeing. I'm with gran, Clarkson makes me laugh sometimes but at other times he comes out with some really crass stuff.

I don't see why people would be surprised by this.
To they think that women who wear burquas do so in bed - Burqua pyjamas (there's a thought)
It's not meant as a sort of sackcloth and ashes - It's hiding themselves from the eyes of other men - I'm sure they can be just as racy as anybody at home with their husbands.
Anyway Geezer - still judging muslims by the actions of a few?
Perhaps we should judge all motorcyclists by the actions of certain biker clubs
