mp3 stuck on usb connected

When I plug a usb lead into my mp3 250 it comes up saying USB CONNECTED I cannot download because this message wont go away.Help please as I`m not computer literate!! Thanks Nita

I have had no problems until now, when I put the usb lead in it says"usb connected" and thats it!! nothing happens,.How do I "unstick it"? thanks
