Has anyone managed to achieve the score of 56 points? Scrabulizer doesn't offer a word beyond 51pts. - Thanks in advance for any suggestions

One caught short with drink is a 29 (4,2) The answer to 29 is 'a pain in the a--e. I can't see why it is 'acts up' if it is? Any help appreciated - it is my last one.

Just this one left: Washington diminished, lacking sympathetic leader for the nation. I think it's Wales (W-L-S) but can't see the reasoning. Maybe I'm wrong? Can anyone help with the parsing?
