satnav - navman 635 - wont hold a charge

just bough a secong hand sat nav...which works fine when plugged in but goes off completely when unplugged i am assuming it should charge...or i is it a plugged in only model...anyone know...can see...

Any advice on carpet beetles? I hoover regularly and patches have appeared in the edge of the carpet in every room up and down. I'm also clearing up about 100 of the beetles a day on the window sills...
