Morning,

I wondered if we could take a moment to talk about the way you use AB.

I've seen people post a few times that they wouldn't send their friends to AB because they've been using it fairly anonymously for years and, as such, have divulged things they wouldn't share with others in their life necessarily.

So, I wondered, in what circumstance would you introduce a friend to The AnswerBank?

And equally, why wouldn't you? What could we do to ensure that you could use the site as you want AND invite your friends to join in when they need a helping hand (or wish to be helpful)?

Thanks everyone, hope we like the new logo!

You couldn't ensure that as a result of FB, hence I do my utmost to myself.

It's the extra weight I've been putting on for Christmas Trim, makes me appear statesman-like. Or so my stylist says...

Would love to discuss this further but I'm off to work, will catch up later.

Thanks Red.

Wouldn't it be equally as much of a "fun secret" if you sent out the equivalent of anonymous "Valentines" to friends, family etc inviting them on?

Although this might be seen as spam.
the issue is not as such being "found" on answerbank for a lot of people, it is a great site, the issue for some is the history that everyone carries around on their profile, depending on how personal people get on here.
G'afternoon Ed,

When Viv and I joined AB it could be said that we were foolish to establish ourselves as 'vivandorron' because our first names are Vivien and Ronald (although we are always addressed as Viv or Ron). Consequently, I feel sure that any AB members in our village ( which all ABers know is in Gower) could identify us as posters in AB.

Anyway, we don't care and have told friends and family what a great site is AB. I have even told my nearest neighbour to "Have a look at the site and pump-in 'vivandorron' because we could be saying things about you."

Ron.
I've mentioned AB to friends, family and neighbours. They know my username and hopefully not my password.
I've also shown posts to my sons and my OH. No secrets.

'No secrets' sounds like a line from a film with Robert Redford and Ben Kinglsey.
It is a secret and more or less going to stay that way. I believe i know someone who uses AB, but going on past experience it's better to keep quiet about one's personal details. I like AB, good for crosswords in every sense....
The daughter posts on here, usually on a Friday when she's p!ssed............I ignore her.
I also was naive when I signed up with my real name. I now wish I had been more anonymous.
Mum, I'm not pissed yet ^^^^
lol you got home quickly...........you've just left my house.
That's because I haven't had a drink yet!
Yes, it's easier to drive very fast and text from your mobile when you're sober, isn't it....:o)
Oh yes, definitely.
Are there any houses in Kendal, I thought that the old grey town was just full of pubs.
Now that's what I like about Answer Bank. I can say anything legal!
They're closing pubs every other week. Mind you cheap drink at Bargain Booze et al. Cheaper to drink at home.
I like my privacy.

Half of Kendal would know me, well perhaps one or two people........
