The number of donations doesn't show in portrait mode, only in landscape on mobile 'phone.

Note the "monthly donations" which is what the Donorbox plugin shows. As I write, the donations this month have been £66.87 from 6 Donations. The donations went live on 28 August and there was a little flurry right at the start. The Grand Total of donations to date, from 28 August to now, is £195.87 from 22 donations.

I should drop the monthly one and keep a running tally.

The lack of donations on a month by month basis might be enough to deter others from donating.

Why not have a subscription offer like most newspaper sites? Why? because people would not pay because the old regular users here are not friendly to new users! Can I suggest a new category where new users can view the rules and introduce themselves if they are genuine?

If it's not possible to show a running total automatically, it might be an idea to put a wee note, "Add £xx for running total" and amend it at the start of each month.

I'd prefer a running total too as doing a monthly one doesn't seem to make sense.

With respect meaghan you have only been on this site a short time. And I stick to my words this morning. I am usually extremely friendly to newcomers.

I'm sorry but that answer says it all really. I've only been on here a while therefore my observations mean nothing? I am quite capable of reading between the lines and realise this is a very closed up little community that is very wary of anyone new. Pity really as it puts people off .

Tell me where I have been wary of anyone new. Quite the opposite usually, but in this case, as I said, I stick to my thoughts. I also think that it wasn't a very tactful post in view of Smow's upset. Smow was not looking for answers. I never suggested it was a troll but he or she showed signs of being someone who was an AB user. Us older users are not a closed community at all. In fact we are very like society in general where people tend to group with people they get on with well, especially on chatterbank. Fortunately, there are very few on here that are suspicious of new users. And quite honestly your thoughts about the fund raising being poor because of this are just not true.

Exactly Corby, I think the reason for poor donations has been the advertising problem and the lack of keeping us in touch.Amuch more professional campaign is needed! There must be some whizz kids out there on AB with suggestions. How about some sort of on line raffle with a prize!
