Pleasedo....if you are moderated you shouldn't really know which moderator has done it. That would mean endless arguments with the mod which, when you've been here a while, will show you how long that can last......for ever and ever.... :-)
Some moderators are known and some not.
Having moderators able to explain their reasons for removing, banning, suspending in secret without a lot of abuse is why there are secret mods.
I think we all support (and admire) the Moderators, until they Moderate one of our own posts, when it can become difficult to remain objective. That's my opinion for what it's worth.
Yes but they couldn't post anonymously to give warnings... if they'd wanted to be anonymous before they couldn't post as a mod.. It seem's odd though for someone whose just joined to of picked up on moderating isssues
Pleasedo. Members were miffed if a post of theirs had been removed and they wanted an explanation as to why.
If the mod gave that explanation using their AB name they would take some stick...probably for a long time.
Mods can now choose a secret AB name as well as their own AB name and can give a reason for removing a post under their secret mod name.
If I was a mod and gave a reason for removal under Gness I'd get nasty comments from the aggrieved. If I had a secret mod name I wouldn't as nobody would know I'm Gness. Not that I'm a mod...the Eds are too wise to do that. :-)
