What is the going rate for working in Tesco and Argos? I'm thinking along the checkout / grocery / collection point line. I'm about to take some new staff on at my work but being new to 'hiring', I'd like to know what other companies are offering. I'm under pressure from Head Office to keep the salary budget under control but I also don't want to take the mickey out of my new staff. I want to pay a competitive rate but don't know what that is! I've read various hourly rates ranging from $4.80 to �6, but does anyone know the actual figures? I'm in north-east Scotland if that makes a difference.
