Hoping today brings relief for both of you - I’ve been watching your posts with interest since my dear Missie had a bout of pancreatitis just before Easter and spent two and a half days on a drip ( home at night ) My vet was right on the ball & suspected pancreatitis straightaway though she’d just stopped eating & was very flat, and luckily she responded very...

They refused on tvery good idea.he grounds it was a skin condition even though he had had numerous courses of antibiotics. It was his first episode too so they couldn't argue it was an ongoing chronic problem. I just think they weasle out of paying for anything they can get away with. Putting a sum in the bank each month now seems a very good idea.
Now that J is rehydrated he will be feeling a bit perkier. I hope they get to the bottom of the cause for the poor little chap of yours

I hope that they manage to get him sorted but you will be watching him like a hawk from now on and that isn't good for your health.
I made myself ill worrying about Frankie, I think that the decision to get him put to sleep was as much for my mental health as it was for him.
At some stage you will know what is best for both of you.

I bet the vets love that question Tilly LOL. I might ask her, see how I feel tomorrow. Actually I'm more likely to forget to ask her. Better write a list.
Thanks everyone. It's so odd sitting here without him staring at me. I want him to stay with me a bit longer but only if it's the best thing for him.

Since then she’s been on a bland diet until just recently when I’ve started her back on her usual food - fingers crossed things stay calm, she’s about 14 now.

Morning all. Had a phone call about 40 mins ago from the vet telling me he's been rehydrated, hasn't got a temperature but still not eating so they are about to sedate him and give him his scan. They will be looking carefully at his abdomen and if OK I can take him home after that, the quicker the better I think. He's not shut up all night and as the vet was talking to me I could hear him in the background. Not a happy chappie.
