Hi there. My two year old Weimaraner GSP cross boy has being diagnosed will allergy problems. The main symptom is inflamed ears which then become dirty and sticky. We are working with the vet who is excellent but the steroid tablets which helped at first have stopped being effective at a dose which is acceptable in terms of side effects for the dog. The next stage is to try a topical steroid spray which we will start on monday. We have cleaned up his diet which has helped a lot but not solved the problem. We have also tried
Canaural drops (the thick yellow ones)
Thornit powder
We currently use ear cleaning solution made from boracic and lactic acid to clean his ears (at vets suggestion) plus the steroid tabs and evening primrose oil capsules, again at vet's suggestion.
has anyone else had experience of this and can you make any suggestions please?
He has bare, not hairy ear canals and is as good as gold about the twice daily cleaning and treatment.
thanks

tch, I can't belive nobody recognises the dialogue from the great movies any more. Well, we'll always have Paris, hasta la vista baby, frankly I don't give a damn, I'll be back.

Jno, this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
Didn't do much today as I ached a bit from yesterday. I tried on 23 blouses and about half of them still fit and aren't rags. Funny thing with my cotton traders ones, they are all the same style and size label yet some are bigger than others...
well I've been sorting/chucking out make up...I currently have one side of my face made up so if anyone comes to the door I'll have to turn sideways...and probably disappear :o)

Oight oight all, sleep well....
Last night, I dreamt I went to Manderley again.....
and woke up and it was Friday .
Busy day but won't bore you .Suffice to say MR S. is like a little dog with two tails with his new digital DVD toy .The instruction book is nearly as thick as War and Peace .
Picky set it all up and has fixed my leak under the sink .So no more soggy packets of Robin Starch

Crikey Robinia ..don't tell me you've finally thrown that old Miners spit mascara :)

Hope you are all Ok .See you later .Sleep toight .
I feel really rough tonight and don't think I'll sleep even if I go to bed. Full of cold and sneezing and snuffles. Fed up for the first time for ages.
Probably when I've had my little op on my nose I'll be able to breathe more easily. I had a call today telling me to go at 12.00 instead of 8.00 on the Monday so that will be better as my younger sister will be able to pick up.
Tht's my moan for the day. Sorry
Oight Oight all. sleep tight.
oight oight to all ailing biddies (and spouses, shaney) - hope your nose gets sorted, Jude
Still floating about ...had to sit up to wait for the dishwasher to chug .
After it was in pieces all over everywhere looking for the leak which eventually turned out to be something to do with the connection to the outside tap for the hosepipe .
But I've just had a nice chat about drugs ....so all was not in vain .
Hope you feel better tomorrow Jude .
Once more ....it's goodnight from me .

good morning all, hope you are all zizzing peacefully. Dogs have just had a lovely gallop around and pigged their breakfast and are now both snoring. Its MILD here, 10c in the forest, amazing.
Morning all
Mild here too for the time of day.I'm just going to stagger down the road to get the papers.See you later.
Good Morning All. Thanks Jno, Shaney and all for caring. I feel a lot better this morning after a better night that I didn't think I was going to get. I wont go on any more.....I hope you are all feeling ok today and your OHs have a good one.

I'm off to Fuschia's and then for a walk round Dunelm. I need a new bin for my kitchen. The pedal has gone on my old one - and it is old.

There isn't any sun yet here but it has been promised.

Right there's pots to wash and rooms to tidy up.

See yer later 'gater(s)
I meant YOU and your OHs.
Good morning all, just done more shopping, and had brekkie. Very nice day, but very early, so am going for a walk.

We have a new car on the island called Renault Twizzy, one seat behind the other, it is horrid, just a swing bar instead of a door, biut like a bubble, who on earth would buy one!

Off to trot now.
Morning all from dull, damp Derby...I could have gone shopping with my sister but I didn't fancy being cooped up in hot town shops so I brought a friend in case there was no one left here to talk to
<props him up in the corner....>

well it was either him or the pope...and he's not cut out for a place like this... <chortles at own joke>

Don't be silly shaney, the mascara didn't go, it's got plenty of mileage yet just like the victory red lippy... It's a bit dry but ok if I warm it a bit on the gas. :o)

Hope your cold clears soon Jude....
The Twizy!! eek! If my sister thinks I'm going out with her in one of these she can think again...

just had a message from a frantic friend in Malaga - her luggage is still back in Gatwick.

Oh dear... I am off there tomorrow... Gatwick rather than Malaga... then Budapest for a few days. In fact I shall start packing any moment now. Hand luggage only, methinks.
How many days is a few jno?...you'd better take this with you then, have a good one!

morning all, I know what you mean about shops Robi, I do more and more stuff online. Its actually cheaper for me to shop at marks online than it is to drive to town and use fuel and pay parking.
jno have lovely hols and yes hand luggage only or at least a change of smalls and necessities in the handbag.
I quite like that little car but no room for the doggies and nothing to stop them jumping out to chase bicycles...what happens when it rains though?
thank you, Robi, I should be back in time for the big day. I've somehow got myself flying out of Gatwick but back to Luton, which should maximise the opportunities for things to go wrong.
