Hi there. My two year old Weimaraner GSP cross boy has being diagnosed will allergy problems. The main symptom is inflamed ears which then become dirty and sticky. We are working with the vet who is excellent but the steroid tablets which helped at first have stopped being effective at a dose which is acceptable in terms of side effects for the dog. The next stage is to try a topical steroid spray which we will start on monday. We have cleaned up his diet which has helped a lot but not solved the problem. We have also tried
Canaural drops (the thick yellow ones)
Thornit powder
We currently use ear cleaning solution made from boracic and lactic acid to clean his ears (at vets suggestion) plus the steroid tabs and evening primrose oil capsules, again at vet's suggestion.
has anyone else had experience of this and can you make any suggestions please?
He has bare, not hairy ear canals and is as good as gold about the twice daily cleaning and treatment.
thanks

Neti that's amazing.Did you know it has English subtitles?
I have already had my shopping pree. This winter I lived in velveteen treggings and sweatshirts; for the spring/summer I have jeggings, mostly denim with some bright colours as well and some black ones. I stocked upon hotter shoes when they were 3 for two, just need some trainers and new tidy shirts. I hate shopping so I just find something I like that is washable and buy it in bulk. That way I just have a daily uniform which makes things very easy.
My junk really is junk, trousers with thin bits on the bum, shirts with the collar gone, paint stained sweatshirts, prehistoric undies and so on.
<<<thwacks woofy for saying pree >>>

my undies look prehistoric but aren't cos regardless of every advert, the sun turns whites yellow eventually. Am desperate to find a large good looking and functional bra!

I second that Neti & Woofy oight oight everybody. Sleep tight.
Just called in to say goodnoight! x
a pree, that's what you have in preemark no doubt?
Good morning all!! Have things to do today, have zumba class (no photos or anything yet have appeared!) then have to contact our fund manager in England to send us some more funds! This 1hr difference makes it harder to fit it in with my morning, thank heavens it's not 8 or 9 hrs difference. No time for a coffee this am!

I'll be back!!

groan jno. good morning all. Shughy is fine this morning and ravenous. Its a beautiful day here but a bit chilly. Big job today is getting ready for Man with Truck who will come for my rubbish next week. 85 quid for a truckload which is way cheaper and easier than a skip and hopefully will keep the neighbours sweet.
I know what you mean about timing the calls Neti, I have to call the US and am forever getting it wrong.
Just wanted to say that I will be keeping in touch with you. I have been privately accused now of doing something that I simply haven't done. It has upset me but at least stopped me worrying what the probems were. I have no reason not to be a biddie. I'll say no more about it.
Good morning everyone. Lovely Sunny morning but a bit cool here like where you are Woofy. Off to Sainsburys in a bit. Then I have some odd jobs when I get back. I hope you all have a good day.
Woofy whatever Jeggings and Treggings are I wish I could wear them. I think they may be clingy trouser/tights and my legs are far too skinny.
I really must make my mind up to go on good shopping spree and try some of this really modern clothing on. For my age I mean of course.
I'm happy to report that I have a male and female blackbird coming every morning for their breakfast. At last the birds are on their way back.
See yer later 'gater(s)
I think I should have pluralised blackbird as it sounds like one of those hermaphrodite (sp!) types. :o)
hmmm, I thought I'd already posted here this morning...I think I went into a stupor when I read the word zumba?
Anyway, morning all...tis a bit fresh Jude and when I had a wander down the garden first thing I saw the remains of a blackbird :o(... I bet it was that cat yesterday, everytime I looked out it was stalking something, grrr. Never mind we have quite a few and it won't be long before they're 'pluralising' :o)

I'd like slidey, mirrored doors on my wardrobe but it's facing me when I get out of bed and I can just imagine sitting up in the night when there's a full moon & catching sight of myself...I don't fancy a 3am sheet changing session. :o)
A man with a van, I need one of those too.

Do you say preemark or pry-mark?
Oh I've just been reminded about this solar storm business
http://www.theweek.co...-and-theres-more-come

Better not go out in any magnetic bling, you might find yourself stuck to the side of a bus or sommink.

I'll watch your video later neti, my computer's a bit slow...must be all those solar sparks
Back again, zumba went on for too long as she forgot the time, just as I was dragging myself off the florr, she realised! No time for coffee but have managed to phone the money man in England and that's all Ok, now hija is due home for lunch so didn't get out for coffee grrrr and I miss it. Have burnt the cornish pasties that she is having! as I was trying to work out how to print envelopes from my new printer but have absolutely no flaming idea, so will have to handwrite it!

You might be joking Robi but some of my jewellery that is on finer chains have magnetic clasps because i cant manage the small fasteners.
We were going to have burger and chips for lunch..tried a new make of burger made from just beef and salt and pepper....they were disgusting, very gristly so the dogs ate the burgers and i had the chips. I am now topping up with cadbury mini eggs. and have put mini egg topped chocolate brownies in the oven. I deserve loads of treats today because sorting rubbish is a miserable business.

Jude the jeggings and treggings thing is funny. When they are in pictures, they are always on skinny minnie types. Because i am traditionally built I always wear bum covering tops and the jeans and trousers that fit me normally have wide legs and I end up looking like a tree trunk. The stretch in the jegs/tregs makes them super comfortable and gives me a more feminine less frumpy shape.
Its a bit of a revelation really, I am amazed that its only recently they have been marketed for us curvy types.

Deja view Woofy. :o)

I tried the denim treggins Woofy, and agree with you. They are made for curvy people. I am not slim but I have slimmish legs and hips and no waist really. They don't stay up on me, they come down off over my hips and the crotch ends up near my knees, which coupled with a muffin top looks wonderful. They are just uncomfortable. I had to send them back.

Was the solar storm thingy this morning? Have I missed it.

Jude, you do wear modern clothes already.
woofy are those magnetic clasps strong? I'm revamping some old jewellery and I find clasps fiddly more often than not nowadays.
