I am truly terrified of our feathered friends, we had a nest directly above our front door in the roof, I knew baby birds must have been in there as there was a constant flying in and out of the" Mummy" bird, lots of mess each day to clean away but it had to be done, they flew the nest about June? but now the poo is down my wall again and down the front door too, I just was curious if there was a nesting time now, I am scared of them but I would never harm them
thanks

my hand was all soggy feathers and little beady eyes hw.. :-(
I am absolutely terrified of hens. This goes back to the 50s when we stayed with my mother's aunt in Ireland who kept chickens. One morning I was given the privilege of collecting the eggs. I asked that all the hens be cleared out of the coop beforehand as I was a bit nervous. This was duly done, or so I thought. The nests were on two levels; I collected all the eggs from the ground level then climbed to the second level. Suddenly there was a loud squawk and a huge black hen flew at me. I screamed and dropped the basket, running for my life, breaking all the eggs in the process. My great aunt's response was, " Don't cry, son, it's not your fault. I forgot about that big black bugger up a height."
At least you did the kindest thing Jem and saved the little bird.
