6 month collie puppy
9 Answers
hiya, my 6 month old BC puppy has been a bit different over the last few days. She is not as evil and mischeivous as usual, preferring to curl up on my lap! very odd behaviour! she is eating, but not as much as usual and not with the same gusto (food has not changed) she puked once over the weekend but nothing since. i am unsure whether to take her to the vets. In herself she seems perfectly ok. Could she be coming into season? What behaviour would you expect if this is the case?

Other than that as long as she is eating and drinking well give her a bit od time and see how she goes.

Ok....I would still stand by advice though.....unless you are really worried then take her to the vet.
I am certainly no expert on the breed though a quick Google did confirm that they can be expected their first season from 6 months onwards. My Dane became very insecure during her seasons and took to peeing everywhere....like woman they all react differently [not that I pee on the floor when I'm on!!!!]
Just keep an eye on her for now would be my advice.

Six months is a little early but not unknown. Sounds very much like a first season to me, is she swollen round her 'girly' bits? What age did her mum first come in (I assume you bred her as you said you did not get her from a breeder). If she is lethargic and not eating/drinking then get her vet checked but if she is otherwise ok and just a bit more 'cuddly' than usual then thats fairly normal. Watch her with any male dogs for the next three weeks or so as she will try to get out and find a mate even at her young age.
