As most of you know, I have a rat in my kitchen. Last Thursday the Rat Catcher (ha, didn't sodding attempt to catch it did he?) put some poison in trays behind my fridge. Anyhoo, on Sunday the damn thing was still alive and well and last night I'm sure I heard it.
How long does this stuff take to work? Can I be even sure it's eating the poison, as I can't get behind the fridge to see, and quite frankly I don't wanna either. The Rat Man's coming back in 3 weeks, but I want it gone...well, like yesterday.
Is there anything I can do to speed up the process? I'm worried about getting more poison as ive a dog, and apart from where the poison already is there's nowhere to put it where she (the dog) won't get to it and stupidly eat it.
The smell of decaying rats is not often a problem, I think they often die in the wall cavity or loft, they often get outside to die as well but yes it can certainly happen.
Not heard it last few days -and ive not seen any soot, from the back of the fire on the floor which should have been a giveaway to me weeks ago, but wasn't....so hopefully.... it's deaded???
Incidently, if the dam thing is still here after Christmas (Dear God no!) It'll be sorry, i'm getting a cat, and not just any old cat, oh no, I'm getting a Main Coon cat- that'll sort it!
One dead rat probably won't stink too much. I remember having an infestation of mice in an old farmhouse I lived in. Stuck some poison down. About 3 weeks later the house was rank - particularly when I lit the fire because they were all behind the fire place. OMG I still remember the stench it was awful. I went for traps after that.
No can do Rowan, Mr Boo has set his heart on a Main Coon, and not just any one, he's set his heart on a particular kitten from a breeder. He's currently buttering up the breeder via email and has spoken to her on the phone. We're going down to visit the kitten in a couple of weeks.
He's that smitten, I think he might just very well offer to sleep with the breeder in order to secure this kitten- heh.
Ooooh... Well erm.... you know when that little kitty grows up it's going to be really beautiful but I don't think it's much of a rat killer at the moment! Bless...
