One of my female cats, aged around 9, has just sprayed a bush in the garden, I thought female cats, do not mark there territory? and especially ones that have been neutered for years! I thought only tom cats, done this?

Sorry I thought that female cats did not spray. I soon learned they will spray their bounderies inside & out! One of my burmese does this.
All cats spray to mark their territory, doesn't matter whether they are neutered, spayed, male or female!
I always though only tom's did this, my Millie does it all the time, its funny to watch her, her back legs are going up and down and her tail is quivering, we call it her "waggle dance"  :-)
Mine do it too and were spayed years ago.....they also "mark" me ..not by spraying fortunately, but by rubbing with their heads......mmm....and I thought they were just being friendly........commoner
My "wee man" as well as head rubbing, jumps onto the table, when you're sitting at it,and sticks his wee bum into your face to say hello!
I alway though only tom's did this too.  Thankfully our female cat only does what commoner says, she rubs her head on everthing, and anything she can.
