White House Sparrow

Every year we get a new white sparrow amongst the population that lives in our garden. This one is doing really well as it has survived the winter, they usually die out (probably killed by a sparrow hawk) long before they get a chance to breed themselves.

Hopefully we will get a few more this year.

near me they have cut down some of the trees and bushes so i do not seem to see as many birds on my fence in my garden

We do have a massive population of sparrows on the farm, I suppose odds are better for us getting a white one.

I have never seen an albino (white) sparrow, but I do have a female blackbird with white wing feathers nesting in my garden.

Lovely. Like others on here I've never seen a white sparrow before, but I have seen a white blackbird and blackbirds with white feathers. I'd love to see a white sparrow!

A rare sight indeed!
I'v seen only one albino sparrow and one pure albino starling plus a couple of part albino blackbirds.
Being more vulnerable to predators makes them even rarer, guess this illustrates how camouflag has evolved.
