I have been out conker collecting with my youngest the past couple of days. What we have noticed is the conkers are not a big a previous years but there are two or more conkers inside the shell. Is there a reason for this? I don't remember double conkers as standard!!!
Hopefully our house will be spider free! He has put them in EVERY corner of the house! Even the corners of the stairs!!!
I remember as a kid, we used to call those, double ones with the flat sides 'cheese cutters'. They were considered a lucky find.
The quality of the conkers seem to be effected be a disease known as 'horsechestnut leaf blotch' which is a tiny moth the mines its way into the leaves.
