For those interested, Bobbie didn't have his x-ray last week as he wasn't well enough to take the anaesthetic. He had it today instead and VD has been ruled out and a Stroke confirmed. There is no treatment except he is having steroid injections as he won't take his pills. The vet agrees with me he seems a happy boy, not in pain, (he was nudging the vet to stroke him), so as long as he stays that way we will continue to give him any support he needs. If things change then a different decision may have to be made but at the moment we are all happy. All except the dog who couldn't care less.

Sqad, I'm not arguing, but he would be having the antibiotic at the same time which if it is VD might make a big difference?? No??
Thanks girls, I shall talk to my friend who rescued him. She loves cats but she's also very sensible.
I came out of the vet 100% sure I would go ahead with the treatment, now I'm dithering.
No.....Cat VD is almost always viral and as such, antibiotics have no effect.

He was good until a couple of hours ago thanks hIa, but the steroid injection will be wearing off now as he's disappeared under the bed. So sadly, I think tomorrow is the day, unless magic happens over night.
Thank you for your good wishes RR and Beano:-)
Your little baby cat Bobbie knows just how much you love him. More importantly, he trusts you. My thoughts will be with you tomorrow.

He'll know you tried and letting him go with love is the kindest think you'll do for him.
