'Tis our wedding anniversary later this month and we're thinking of having a picnic.

Aside from the quiche, pork pie and mini sub rolls, what things would you add to make it a little bit more special?

TIA. :-)

This is a good way to serve dips then add veg or breadsticks and get stuck in.

Coleslaw, pasta salad or potato salad. Scotch eggs instead of pork pie perhaps
Crudite, with curry mayo in which to dip and slurp.

Nice suggestions, thanks.

Mally, champagne is a given!
Chocolate dipped strawberries.

That sounds good, Tiggs.
I think little, dinky things are good - quails' eggs, mini blinis with slivers of smoked salmon and so on.
Triangular crust-less water-cress sandwiches.
Samosas, kofte, bhajis, pakora, minty yoghourt and tomato and chili relish.
My mouth is watering...
Cheeses and fruit.
I always take some sandwiches as well, smoked salmon is a favourite.

So's mine, Shoota.

I prefer M&S mini sub rolls to sandwiches. I really fancy beef and horseradish and pulled ham with mustard and dill.

I like the idea of blinis...
How about mini sweet peppers stuffed with cream cheese - love those.

And cheese and pineapple sticks, just for the sake of nostalgia :-)
Don't invite any abers to your picnic unless you take loads of sandwiches.
There are a few short of them on here.
