Designer Mongrels

My daft question of the week because I should know the answer.
If I breed two poodles I can be certain the puppies will be poodles.

If I breed two cockerpoos (as an example of a designer mongrel) what will I get? I don't the puppies will be cockerpoos

I think they would be Cockerpoos, as long as the parentage of the parent dogs are pure breed Spaniels and Poodles. Is this not how breeds start?

Cockerpoos are graded as F1 or F2 and so on, depending on their parentage.
Two cockerpoos bred together will, as far as I can remember, still have cockerpoo pups but they’ll be called F2s.

I can see the appeal of these dogs and really it is up to the individual how they spend their money but money is the at the root of my question.

Yes as far as I’m aware her parentage is that of a randy toy poodle with a cocker spaniel , she’s gut the curly coat of her Dad and the long ears of the mam, she looks more poodle ( quite small) than Cocker , she was bought as a pet and not to breed so she was sterilised at 6 months old :0)

Oh and we didn’t ....pay for her, my daughter did as there were personal stuff going on like breast cancer and her shielding my grandson from the horrors of chemotherapy etc, on reflection it was a bad move as they both worked so we had the task of looking after her , that was 6 years ago and I wouldn’t change a day of it , she’s a massive part of this family,we love her dearly

Ours is five years old, an F1 who has more spaniel characteristics than poodle.
They don’t shed, or very little, are suitable for people who are allergic to dogs, are classed as companion dogs as they love to be part of the family, are lovely natured, easy to train.
We too got ours when there was some family stuff going on and he certainly made a huge difference, took the focus off the bad things and brought the smiles back to our faces again.
I care not one jot what people think about the cost of them, in the same way I care not one jot that some folk spend a fortune on designer handbags or shoes, or other things I wouldn’t. It’s their money and their choice.
