Feeding The Birds

Do you put food out for the birds?

Or hedgehogs and other critters for that matter?

I've just found some florentine mince pies and mini stollen I forgot I had and some OOD Brioche buns that little G wasn't keen on and I've just thrown the lot out with some crusts of bread.

I like looking after the birdies :-)

I'll be alright, just the usual morning routine of getting up and feel awful for a bit. I'm sure I'll be less ropey in about 30 minutes or so.

Norwich is one of my favourite cities,

I was in holiday a few years back in Callender, went for a walk in the local park and was thrilled to find red breasted mergansers coming for food with the rest of the ducks. Just goes to show how one areas rarity is another areas common bird.
Similar thing happened in the London wetland centre, I went to the shop on the way out and checked the latest sightings, realised I had a few that were not on their list asked if they weren't on there because they were so common... Only to find out they were locally scarce. Can't even remember what it was, but something I am used to like siskin or something like that.

There's a pigeon in the garden now, availing himself of my offerings. There is a brightly coloured bird that visits my garden but I have yet to identify it. I will take a photo next time I see it and perhaps some of the more knowledgeable birders can tell me what it is. It's only a tiny little thing.
