Illegal hunts still take place in Dorset, and police appear to turn a blind eye to both the Hunt and to the violent intimidation of those who try to prevent it.

Please sign now to bring an end to this cruel so-called sport, and prevent these lovely creatures from being torn apart alive in the name of human pleasure. Such barbarism has no place in the twenty-first century.

Signed and shared Canary.
I do not approve of fox hunting but it's already illegal so what are you proposing? Make it more illegal? If plod are not enforcing the law then they need to be compelled to do so. The problem is that Blair and co managed to make it illegal in such a way that it's more or less impossible to enforce.
hunting often in connivance with local police forces who either seem ignorant of the law governing this or who actively participate, facilitate and support this criminality, often overseen by a hunt supporting Police and Crime Commissioner. How do they know this?
I disapprove of fox hunting, bull fighting, bear baiting and all the other practices that are now generally seen as barbaric, like any good virtue signaller should.

But what is the point of petitions like this? As has already been mentioned, the practice is already illegal anyway.
No, I won't sign. Country people already know that it is illegal. Foxes are not, by the way, lovely creatures when they get in amongst your chickens/guinea fowl. They need culling.
Probably the same with Angling, canary.A lot of the anglers up here on the Dee or the Don are mostly either rich toffs or working-class bods, when i point out the barbarity of their"sport"they look at me as if i was mad.I was,mad with them.
Round where I've lived in W. Yorks., angling is a lower-class 'sport', used to augment diets. In France it was the same.
jourdain: " Foxes are not, by the way, lovely creatures when they get in amongst your chickens/guinea fowl. They need culling. " - then cull them, don't get dressed up like a ploughmans lunch and ride all over the countryside with a pack of hounds to take all morning to "cull" one fox.
Surely, it is the responsibility of owners of chickens/guinea fowl (or any creature for that matter) to ensure they are safe from the ravages of nature, not try to wipe out another species because they're failing in their duty.
Signed and thanks, Canary. If this petition brings to the attention of more people that the police are neglecting/ignoring their duties it will do some good.
People taking part in this barbaric "sport" really have something wrong with them.
As for wanting a cull because people with chickens are too lazy to protect them properly. Unbelievable. I've never lost a chicken to a fox either here on in the UK.
"Throughout the UK the illegal hunting of foxes continues unabated under the smokescreen of trail hunting"

Simple then, petition to make trail hunting, or anything resembling it, illegal.
^ Yes, and they do that by culling foxes who will kill their animals (I`m not advocating hunting by hounds) If you want nice safe animals for your meat then factory farm them indoors.
If you are going to ban fox-hunting,you also have to ban angling.Ban them both at the same time. The toffs can do without their bloodlust, the working-class can do without their bloodlust(in the name of feeding their poor starving families guff).
Can I put this to the assembled?

Hunt fish on horseback and foxes with rods, everybody wins.
Did I say I approved of fox-hunting? NO, Ididn't, but foxes need culling. By the way, guinea-fowl need to free-range. You can have hens tucked up in huts with space above the ground and foxes still get in. Believe me. How many of you have seen the results?

Also, I can look out of my window and sometimes see an ancient, disease-riddled dog-fox crawling on his rounds - he'd be better dead.

I suppose I should not have expected any more from sentimentalists. Once I had to comfort a 7-yr-old girl whose pet chickens were mauled (not always killed) by a fox that had found it's way somehow into their very secure hen-house. I don't know how many of you have tried that?

I really think some of you need to get more in touch with nature, red in tooth and claw.
I don't understand why it's defined as a 'Sport' there's nothing sporting about it.
I would happily sign to stop these vile creatures on horseback, but I can't seem to open the link.
jourdain: "Did I say I approved of fox-hunting? NO, Ididn't, but foxes need culling." - Ok but can you think of a less efficient way of doing it?
I remember when a fox got into my friend's duck house. It bit the heads off every one of them. It is very difficult to make somewhere safe from foxes. If you just have a few chickens in a run you can make them safe but if you farm hundreds or thousands of acres for a living you can't and the only way to protect your livestock is to keep it safe from predators. People want to eat meat but they don't want to think about how that meat was produced.
Quote from the film 'The island.

Just because I want to eat the burger doesn't mean I wat to meet the cow
