Cat licking bags

My csat seems to have a strange liking to plastic bags. He doesn't seem to like the ones you get from supermarkets but he licks bin bags and the stiffer carrier bags. What is on them that he might like the taste of and does it do him any harm?

I'm no expert, not being a cat lover, but I think it might be the oils in them,
Maybe someone con confirm or rebut that, but thats probably the answer.

Mine likes white plastic bags - never the coloured ones.

My cat loves plastic bags too, he loves to hide inside them and pounce on us when we walk past.
As for the colour he isn't fussy, but he will only get on my bed if the duvet is a light colour, not a dark one
