My cat has Died

i do apologise cos this is not actually a question but ive written on here before about my 19 yr old cat who has been making lots of mess of late and we felt she ought to be put to sleep because was like an extremely old person but none of us felt able to take her to the vet. well today she has died, and i feel happy for her yet so sad too. im so pleased she died naturally asleep on the boiler where she liked to sleep but we will all miss her so much. we have just buried her up the garden next to her brother.

That is sad but she had a good, long life and it was nice that she died naturally like that and was spared that journey to the vet, bless her.

Ahh - today is the two year anniversary of my pooch popping her paws! My son has been very upset (two years on and he's only 10 - but I suppose he never not knew her (if that makes sense)).

sorry to her your old lady has passed away but what a lovely way for her to go be glad that she died in her own home and that you did not have to take her to the vets you must have looked after her very well to get to 19 she is chasing mice at rainbow bridge and laying in the sun xxx ruth

i feel satisfied (not sure thats the right word) in knowing her brother died naturally, again at home at 15 yrs old, and then she goes like this. I've never had a cat so long ever before and they have all always got run over at various ages. so im pleased as well as sad (hard to explain!)

Bee - I think any pet owner who has lost a loved one will understand. don't feel guilty about feeling relieved.. she's not in pain any more and, yes, it's sad, but like others have said, she had a long life so just enjoy your memories of them both.. ;-)

Been there quite a few times - our last moggy to "go" was 17 but I still bawled my eyes out! You can never forget any of them but time helps the healing process!
Bet you'll want another before long (if you don't already?)

I know exactly how you feel.No one understands if they don't have pets. I always wished some of my pets would have gone in there sleep but I have mostly had to take them to vets. I lost my lovely white persion cat 2 years ago he was 16. I still go out to the garden to talk to him. I have a golden lab getting on in years and I pray that when it is his time that he goes in his sleep. The look in his eyes would be with me forever.But he is ok at the moment. Just go out in garden and talk to her. It helps.

Oh Busybee, I am so sorry to hear about your lovely cat. its horrible when you lose them especially when they have grown up with your children. the same thing happened to me last summer when we lost our lovely Tinker who was 16 yrs old.

you never forget them and they will always have a place in your heart.

Aww, so sorry, I know how you feel I had to have my old cat Puss put to sleep in December he was 18 yrs and I cried for days. Puss is buried in the garden and I have planted Forgetmenots on his grave, I say hello to him every day, he will always be my special friend.

Busybee, like everybody I'm so sorry for you loss, but please be glad that she went as she did in her sleep, in her home with the family who lovd her. Its every pet owners dream that their friend goes like this and that they don't hve to make THAT

Aw, BusyBee, I'm so sad to hear of your loss, but, like the others have said, she went across the Rainbow Bridge peacefully and in her own home. My old cat, Cleo, died at home too and I'm so glad she went without having to undergo the vet trip (although sometimes the vet trip is the kindest thing). I've now got another little Cleo, named after her because she's just like her! She'll never replace the old lass of course (she was 19 and died 12 years ago), but she's a joy. God bless, love, K xx

Sorry to hear of your loss, but it must be a comfort to have her go at home. I've had many cats and none has passed on naturally. Having to go to the vets and make the final decision is a very traumatic thing to do. Our last kitten was only about a year old when it was run over on its back legs. It managed to get back home, crawling through the cat flap without the use of its legs. Luckily my daughter and I were there to help as we could, but we had to take her to the vets where we were told there was no hope. If only one of the legs had been damaged the kitten could have been spared, but no such luck. We still haven't got another yet, as we were so upset, but we do still have two cats and the next door neighbours cat to feed and look after. I too, go and talk to the ones we have lost, and we buried in the garden . Time will heal your sad thoughts, even though you are sad now. Looking at photos of them are good for you, remembering the best times!

I could not log on here yesterday, so im lte with my condolences, thinking of you. Its 7 years this week since i lost my patch and i still miss him so, he left one very big patch shaped hole in my heart.Margo my ginger girlie has just this very minute scoffed a spider, i know shes on a diet but surely shes not that hungry, yuch.
