Yellow outside?

Ok, i just look outside and it was yellow, i don't just mean the sky, i mean everything had a yellow tinge. It was very odd. Why did this happen, and i know it was nothing to do with my eyes.

Were there any coloured lights in the area you had been?  If you'd been in a purple-tinged light, your eyes would adjust to make things look yellow.

It could be caused by a number of things.  From personal experience, on two occasions I remember as I drove home from work the world looked orange-y.  Everything seemed to have an orange cast.  As it turned out, there were severe weather warnings issued (which I didn't know about) and tornadoes struck very near us both times.

 

One other time, I was out having dinner with my husband, when I suddenly felt funny.  Not quite dizzy, but "other world-ly."  I decided to go to the ladies room to splash some cold water on my face.  As I stood up, everything suddenly had a yellowish tinge.  The next thing I knew,  I was on my back looking up at a worried crowd of people (I'd fainted).  I was taken to the hospital and they ran a zillion tests, but couldn't find anything wrong.

 

In short, if it happens again, and there are no unusual weather conditions present, you might want to mention it to your doctor.

I know what you mean.  It must be to do with the type of cloud and the angle of the sun.

Whenever I see a yellow (for purple) tinge to the outside world it seems to lead to a thunderstorm.  Not sure how scientific that is, but I live in a house that has a view from the back of the whole Aire Valley (in Yorkshire), we see weather moving in from the Dales and yellow tinge = thunder strom for me!

I know exactly what you mean - that's happened to me on a few occasions. Usually happens when it's a bit overcast or looks like it's about to rain. I just assumed it was something to do with the amount of light getting through the clouds. I love it when it does happen - it's all mystical!

I agree with rock mommy.  I have noticed this on a number of occassions and it has always been before a thunderstorm.
