Cat deterrent from flower beds

Hi all,

I recently planted some nice flowers for spring and summer in our flower beds but a cat keeps coming and digging holes, kicking soil all over the path and disturbing my flowers growing.

Does anyone know what could deter this unwelcome visitor?

try some 2 litre plastic bottles filled with water stategically placed around the flower bed

Sprinkling chilli powder and black pepper around may help.

Try catnip, sprinkle it all over your flowerbed. Cats hate it.
But seriously, look for pepper dust at the garden centre. Works well, lasts for ever.

Coppertop, I hope you twigged that Carl was joking, if you use Catnip, you'll have every cat in the neighbourhood in your garden, They love it.:-)
Seriously though. Orange or lemon peel is good scattered among the flowers, cats hate the smell of citrus.

I've heard that Olbas oil sprinkled on tea bags then placed around the plants works. I did it a little while ago on my herb patch, the neighbours cat seems to have given up laying on my herbs now. May work for you ... Good luck.

Moth balls are a good deterent.

What you need is cat shoo....Coleus Canina height and spread 60 cm.Grey/green foliage,blue flowers in summer.Plant in container move around the garden.Depending on the area two/three plant pots should do the trick.g.
