kittens first injection

i recently had a bad experieince with the vet, he did not detect the fact that my cat had a heart murmer and gave him a steriod injection, subsequently my cat died shortly afterwards. i now have a kitten, who obviously must have his injections etc. has anyone had any problems with kittens and their initial injections etc. i'm quite concerned as i have no faith in the vet although i have changed vet.

Very sorry to hear about your poor cat, hopefully your new kitten will fill that void and bring you great joy.

I can understand why you're now a bit wary of vets, but hopefully your new one is a lot better than your last.

We have two cats at present and we got them at the same time when both were 8 weeks old. The only side effect they had from their initial jabs were that they made both of them very lethargic and they slept for nearly two days afterwards. But they didn't have any ill effects, just that tiredness.

So if this happens to your little kitty, try not to worry, s/he'll be okay in no time. The same thing happened when we had them wormed. It wasn't half quite around the house for a day or two!

Main thing is to discuss your fears with the new vet, they are there and will listen, hopfully he/she will put your fears to rest,what happened to your last kitten was awful I know but it's not force to be the same again with your new baby.Good luck and many happy and mayhem years with your new addition,g

thank you both for your reassurance, i took 'Jensen' to the vet tonight for his jabs, and he seems fine, he's up to kitten tricks at this very moment.
