The time has come when I have to bite the bullet and do what's best for my little puppy Skippy . I can no longer look after him to the standard he deserves and it's not fair on him to keep him here with me . I can , or my carer can , feed him , but I can't watch what mischief he gets into , walk him , excersise him , take him out , play with him , pick him up , or give him the valuble attention he needs . Today a couple came to look at him and took him with my son and their dog into the park . All went well and the two dogs played well . The couple have had Jack Russells before and they really like him .

My son wrote a letter to his landlady to ask if , in the circumstances , he could take him in his home , but she said definately not , no pets allowed .
I met the couple who are having him , yesterday , and they seem lovely , and certainly know a lot about Jack Russells .
It's ok to ask zzxxee , most ABers know anyway , I have motor neurone disease and can no longer talk and have difficulty walking , I am now needing a wheelchair , and I am hooked up to a peg feeding pump for at least 12-15 hours a day . xxx

Hello dear bigmamma - sorry I'm late, but it was my birthday yesterday & I was out all day with my family.
I'm so sorry to hear you have to let Skippy go to a new home. You must have done a lot of soul searching over this, but it'll be best for you in the long run & I'm sure he'll be a really happy little dog with his new found family.
Give Skippy a hug from me before he goes.
Thinking of you, love smudge. -xxxx-

Hello josaphine , how lovely to meet you , and great that you know about the efffects of MND , though , as you know , it differs in it's onset and progression with different people , we all end up the same eventually . I started symptoms in January this year 09 , and was diagnosed in March this year . I seem to have bulbar , upper , and lower symptoms , just unlucky I guess ...lol
I do hope the person you are carer for is not a relative honey, I have great respect for you for the work you do and the care you give xxx

Hello bigmamma. I am so sorry you have to give up little Skippy and know how much you love him, but you have ensured he has an excellent home. I would love to have had him - you know how much I love J.R's - but my JR cross wouldn't take kindly to a rival!!
I am sorry to hear that your health has declined to this extent and wish you love and best wishes.
Keep posting............... I will look out for you.

Hi Big Mamma,
It's such a cruel disease, The man I look after is not a relative but I have known him for some time now, He has the slow progressive strain but has had the disease for several years and now needs constant care. Try to keep possitive as much as possible and what you are doing for your little puppy is just lovely..........

Oh BM, so sorry to hear that hun. I know how much he means to you and it must have been very hard to say goodbye. At least it looks like Skippy has gone to a good and decent home. You are a very brave lady with everything you're going through and it does seem the best thing to do for the little fella.
Take care and all the best for little Skippy

Oh, bigmamma, I've been away from AB for what seems like ages now and just popped in tonight to catch up and I saw your post. I'm so sorry to hear that wee Skippy has to go to a new home (but it sounds like they're lovely people, who will give him a great life!) - and I had no idea that you had been diagnosed with MND. I'm really sorry to hear that and I wish you all the best. Keep your chin up, lass - I know you can!! Loads of love & hugs, K xxxxxxxxxx
Hi, bigmamma - it's good to hear from you. I'm fine, thanks (as usual, you're concerned about other people and not yourself!!). The cats & dogs are OK - Mischa's grown up, but is still a little minx and Thomas has been sharing our home with a nice family about a mile away! He spends more time there now, because Gavin hates him, but he does pop over occasionally for some food and a cuddle. The chickens are moulting, so not many eggs now, but we've now got some young pigs, which K. Jnr looks after (he always does the pigs, I try not to get involved. He's very good with them). Got to go to work now, I'll back later. K xx
