"The Female of the species is more dangerous than the Male"
Old Saying.

(Any Species that is).
If cows are in the field with calves, they do'nt mind people as long as they don't get too close to the calves, however if people have dogs with them ,it's a different matter. As far as the cow is concerned, that dog is a wolf threatening her calf and she will charge at it and then the owner tries to protect their dog and inevitably gets hurt.
I agree with horselady - and no-one in their right mind would go into a field that has a bull in it, especially a dairy bull, as they can be very unpredictable (or "unpredictabull" - please yourself!!). If it's your own bull, of course, that's a different matter, but even then, dairy bulls can be very dangerous. There are numerous stories of farmers being seriously injured or even killed by their own animals.
And of 'dairy' bulls, the Jersey has the reputation of being the most dangerous. So, if you find a bull in a field don't stop to admire it and think just how sweet and pretty it looks !.Small doe-eyed brown cows have small, doe-eyed dangerous mates!
