Cat Wee on Carpet

One of my little darlings has peed on a bit of carpet and I want to make sure it is all cleaned up properly with all the smell and wee itself removed.

The carpet is cream coloured and I've cleaned and dried it as much as I can, to include the floorboard and back of the carpet, but there is still a smell and a green tinge.

Any ideas (economical as possible) welcome to get rid of the smell and green tinge, preferably things I can try before trying to hire a carpet cleaning machine.

If you can't get out to get something - a quick solution is soda water. The bicarbonate in it breaks the urine down. Put some in a spray bottle and give a liberal spraying of the area. Leave it to soak for a bit, then blot with a white towel repeatedly till the towel comes away clean.
Thanks for that link Chris - I know I'm barging in on Jenna's thread, but I've got a lovely little stain that Peanut left behind one night and I can't get rid - I'll try that stuff! :-)
It is always best to treat with a biological washing powder as this 'eats up' the enzymes in the wee. Follow up by dabbing the area with surgical spirit. I know this works for the smells but not sure about the stain, sorry....Good luck.
Theres a vanish tub or spray what gets rid of it! I have it, its very good! It smells like fish at the start when you rub it on but after its fine gets rid of the smell and the stain!

I have the tub which is far better! :) I would put the link of it but it would be advertising which is not allowed! Hope I helped!
