chris missed the last bit - if you can't eat it or hump it you pi55 on it and walk on by.
I am sure that there is something in pineapples that makes poo less than tasty for a hound. How you are going to get your little monster Caspar to eat the pineapples I don't know.
Try googling - there should be plenty of ideas for you to try. I think that it is called Pica - eating things that are not edible (unless you are a stupid dog).

pastafreak,
I was genuinely trying to help and offer advice. Yes, I've now seen your second post which wasn't there when I was typing my second comment.
Okay, sounds fairly simple to me, either keep litter tray out of mutt's reach, if possible?, or get mutt a little muzzle for those "appropriate times", i.e. when she's liable to get to it first?

The golden rules with pets:
A dog is 95% domesticated but 5% still a wild animal. It's that 5% which makes them impossible to truly comprehend but which gives them the 'character' which we all love.
A cat is 5% domesticated but still 95% still a wild animal. It's that 5% which makes us totally subservient to them (which is the only basis upon which any self-respecting cat will ever enter into a relationship with a human).

pastafreak,
Without knowing the geographical layout of your home, it's very difficult to know how best to advise, i.e. someone living in a flat would have their options limited compared to someone, say, in a large detached house with numerous rooms etc. You get my drift?
Anyway, you also say that the naughty little minx likes nibbling at night/evening? Don't know when you normally feed the mutt, but if you are able to do so late afternoon/early evening, she may be suitably "repleat" enough to leave the moggie's "munch" alone?
Yes, and before you say it, I realise that most mutts are little piggies and she may still try anyway, even if she has just been fed. Just a suggestion?
Anyway, best of luck, I'm sure you'll be fine - just don't snog yer dog too often, eh???

The local cats crap on my postage stamp of a front garden and when I let the dogs out to put them in the van they make a bee line for the cat poo and devour it before I can stop them. Doesn't do any harm (other than making them smell bad round the mouth area when they want to lick you - yeuk) but make sure you worm them regularly as the cats probably haven't been (I don't mean yours, I mean the local flea bags). I think its because most cat food seems to contain something very attractive to make cats eat it.
