A nasty category?

Perhaps there should be a separate category, accessible only on request, where posters can insult and swear at each other to their heart's content without risk of upsetting anyone else or getting a whole thread shut down? You know - if you don't like it, stay out?

There is, at the moment its called Chatterbank. One of the few categories I find to be a waste of time.

Thing is, like the thread that's just been shut down, many begin as perfectly friendly little chats about nothing in particular. And when you're feeling a little bored... well ...

I think this would probably take over the site as it seems to be doing at the moment...
I have in the past gotten involved in it but it has gone beyond it now and is stupid.
Considering what happens now, i would imagine posters would carry the tension and nastiness to other sections of answerbank if this nasty category was to be implemented

He's made it quite clear that he won't put up with any abuse, and ultimately, its his site and his rules.

It's often quite normal threads (as ummmm has pointed out) that turn into personal insult threads. No need for it.

The thread only gets pulled when someone posts something offensive on it though. I imagine the Ed will say the answer is simple......don't be offensive and the thread will stay.
