Ed has told us that the 'Sharing Button' is being rolled out to other sections.

http://www.theanswerb.../Question1048371.html

Wouldn't it be nice if all other buttons were working correctly before introducing new ones, which some of us don't want.?

This evening I typed a reply to a questioner and duly pressed the submit button and my answer disappeared to.....well I don't know where.

I have read of others experiencing a similar problem, so I thought it might be worth mentioning in this section.

Hi Ron,

Sorry, I don't follow your problem? You're posting questions to the wrong section by accident?

Is your answer not found here: http://www.theanswerb.../vivandorron/answers/ ?
It would be nice if the share button could be hidden, or at least one could avoid the annoying pop up menu that tries to cover the 'latest posts' and is reluctant to clear off unless you click the cross. This is definitely a step backwards IMO.
O_G, are you zoomed in at all? On my screen it only covers up the first google ad on the right hand side?
No. The default 100%.
Do you know what you screen-size & resolution is?
Most people (well on all my computers) have enough room on the screen below the buttons so it pops down and doesn't cover the latest posts, if it's popping up for you, OG you must have you screen set in a low resolution so it hasn't got room underneath it for the pop out.
or you've got too many toolbars and the actual viewing part of your browser has been turned into a letterbox.
Mine pops up.
Mine has disappeared completely, but I'm not complaining.
Mine only covers up the black and white doodah.
I've not made notes but I think it occurs the same at home and work. The work screen is set to 1280 by 1024.

Few toolbars. Address bar, Menu bar, Google bar, tabs, main window, status bar.

But ideally I'd rather not have things expanding just because the cursor moved across them whatever direction.

Hi Ed....No, I feel sure I didn't post into the wrong section. However, after submitting my answer, it failed to appear. Consequently, it meant my having do a re-type and make a second submission; which then worked.

I'll keep an eye on things and will let you know if it happens again.

Ron.
I may be related to how large one has made the window. Checking this morning, yes if the button is near the bottom of the main screen the menu doesn't flow under the base of the window as one may have hoped, but annoys by ensuring it is seen in total by sticking itself upwards instead.
Okay, I found the bit of code to make it only pop out when you click.
I sympathise with Ron as this has happened to me a few times, especially if the Internet connection dips. With longish posts I tend to copy them, so that if aught goes awry I can just paste the next time round.

Thanks to all who have contributed to my thread.

If the 'mark as best answer' button worked, I may have pressed it for mike.
Not that he deserves it more than the rest of you folk, but he did express sympathy to me and confirmed my view that AB buttons are suspect.

Ron.☺☺☺
