Disappointed

I honestly thought this was going to be a fun site for sharing info and debating, discovering opinions and so on but the more I visit the more "closed shop" it appears to be. Messages going to and fro with smudge, netibiza, silly moo, InAPickle (as was), FP, graemer (and his extra wife situation) so I won't forget Robinia - everyone else can join in (unless for some obscure reason they are benned) but no community spirit is shown and the impression I get is I'm intruding on protected ground. I'm sure I will have offended many souls and I am sorry as that is not my intention but it is not nice to feel so excluded from a virtual situation and I felt I needed to give my opinion.

Artful, I have felt the same way you feel, I sometimes felt that my participation was intrusive and unwanted.

It doesn't bother me at all now, as I know that some (not all!) of my postings have been well received. At the end of the day its just (sometimes) educational light-hearted fun.

Artful some of the folk have been on here since Noah was chopping down Gopher wood so they're bound to be familiar wi each other and get "chatty." I've only been here for a few  months and stick to giving straight answers only (cough.) 

Don't give up on us yet, join in, give yir opinions and remember there's a chocolate cake for yir 500th answer.

Hi Artful, if you remember my United nations question, you asked me a couple of things and I chatted back...I thought you were feeling welcomed. I even remember you live in France near Grenoble. As tbc says with those that have been around longer sometimes it's hard not to refer back to things that happened and that does appear cliquey. It took me months before I stuck my nose in because I actually felt the same as you.

Thankyou everybody for the bucking up, all much heartwarming - what was really interesting to read is how others have felt something similar at the beginning.

graemer I know you talked (re UN, and that was good - but many of you did to various postings, I was referring to an overall feeling. Anyway I said it and I'm glad I did as it's made me want to persevere. Robinia, I'm 50 in July (prob that's the pb!), as for thongs I never think about them! smudge I'll take that rolo, not had one for years, ta! And MadgeB - there's no rat fat, big, small or anything.
