It seems we're not getting any changes on AB 'til after xmas so I've set up a grotto for us. Sorry it's a bit like a scene from Great Expectations but I've sprayed a few cobwebs silver & blown the dust off me doileys so please come in & sit down.
What do all the biddies/grumps want to find in their wrinkly stockings this year then? Do you like all this festivity or will you be the grumpy gran/grandpa from hell this year?
Please feel free to take a present out of the bran tub as you leave by the way. Contents may be unidentifiable....oops sorry...be varied.

Scotland Yard's telephone number was originally Whitehall 1212.It was their information room where all the emergency calls ended up. it was also a radio show way back in the early fifties.

Vinny go and stand outside Ed's office at once...

hi shaneystar - hope you weren't having a crafty cig behind those net curtains today.....

Yes Jude - it's the one soap I really like because of the laughs. (I must admit to watching Hollyoaks Omnibus Edition on a Sunday Morning - I think it's aimed at a slighly younger generation, but what do I care!!)

Glad you enjoyed the little story, Vinny!!!!!

You watch what you want Gessoo and enjoy. I'm a fan of The Bill so I'll be flitting in and out!! Thought your story was a laugh too!! :o)
Question Author
oooh I've not watched the Bill since Ted Roach (Tony Scannell) left...I was heartbroken
They film The Bill around the area I used to live in south London and the cast regularly used to come into the pub where I worked.Kevin Lloyd the actor, who sadly died ,was amongst them and he was a lovely chap.My friend who I worked with said to him she would "Give him a wave"when she saw him on T:V. and he replied "O.K. I'll give you a wave back" !!
Kevin Lloyd used to come into the Supermarket where I work with his wife. They had about 6 children 1 of which was a little Asian girl they had adopted. It was very sad when he died.
That was bad grammar. I didn't work with his wife she just came with him!
There's another famous person comes in our Shop who I have a chat with. He's right in the public eye at the moment. I'll let you have a guess. Remember I live in the Midlands - there's a clue!!!

Who the devil's that Robinia?

It is a sports person Robinia sorry! He's a handsome young man - there's another clue.

Tony Scannell - Ted Roach from the Bill - don't you remember?

Oh yes! I see him now. Did you have 'crush' as we used to say?
Question Author
No idea Jude - the only sports person that I'd like to chat to is Boris Becker (& Damon Hill)
Come on Shaney where are you? You usually know the answers to these puzzles. Or don't you live in England. That's not a clue, but he had a famous father - that is!
