you've got pavements on Ibiza neti? I thought you only had dust tracks...
I put it to you jno that you are feigning innocence & that you are fully aware of the purpose of those items...
Well I think I'll go & catch some rays as they say...I don't want to be developing rickets

Possums. (I still don't know how to greet you at lunch time, it's not good morning and not good afternoon either or is it.)
That's horrible Neti, about the slippery slabs. Please be careful.
Fergie squiffy, well I don't know what she's usually like and I don't have "an eye for" when somebody is "a bit tired" but I did find her oddly wound up. But I didn't even know she and Andrew were an item again so that's how much I know. John Cleese will be on next week:) I really know what you're saying about the whooodee whoodee whoo noises we make, Robi, ha ha ha, it sounds that way even to me (but I like it). Skavlan, though, is Norwegian and they're even more whooodee whoo than we are. And his Scandinavian guests can be anything - Norwegian, Swedish, Danish. (Don't know if you can tell any difference?) The way he pronounces "Böckingham Palace" and "the Döchess of York" is a typically Norwegian accent. Isn't he a cutie pie, I'd eat him in five seconds:-D
Shaney this tatting business is really difficult - ergonomically, that is. Can't find a non-claw like way to hold my left hand...! Still it's very interesting and I'm not giving up yet!
Speaking, as we did yesterday, of names that sound different to people of different nationalities... http://www.croatianti...ets_go-ahead_from_EU_

Oh that reminds me, shaney, with your hand difficulties how do you manage to hold a knife, I am finding it very painful now with these duputren's lumps in my palms and they are quite painful if pressed. So am having to hold knife "the common way" like a pen and it feels wrong. The dirt and messy fairies seem to have taken residence here in Casa Neti, after all my cleaning and tidying yesterday the place is now a tip and I hate it!!!!
I haven't got duputren's lumps Neti but I do have Herbedens nodeshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heberden%27

Mind you my hands don't look as bad as those pictured as yet thank goodness .
I can hold a knife Ok it's just that I have little grip in my fingers .I have a job peeling ,chopping and cutting stuff .I nearly had to take a hammer and chisel to a jar of jam this morning :)
These conditions are painful and I do sympathise.
I did have a chopper thing until it broke but I don't think it would be any good for you though as you have to press it down with the palm of your hand .In the end I even found using that difficult .Mr. S is no help as he's left handed .It's agony watching him try and peel a spud :)
This is why I can't do the tatting KIt.No grip and fumbly fingered .
I used to have a 32 piece dinner service :)) There's about two bits left !
Lovely day here btw .Still that chilly wind though .
Hope all Biddies are OK xx

It does hurt but not continually .Once the boney growth gets to a certain stage the pain eases.
I've got them in my toe joints as well and on my heels .
The weather plays a part .This is why I'm always griping when it's raining and damp .
I shouldn't really grumble though .A friend of mine has hands that are really deformed from rheumatoid arthritis. Her fingers are all curled under and bent over one another .

Afternoon all or is it evening. Lovely day today and have now almost finished my back garden. Just got my pots to clean and sort and there are about 12 of them all different shapes and sizes. My sister says don't plant anything for a little while yet cos we might get a frost. Then there's the chairs want a scrub. Son number 2 is coming tomorrow so I'm hoping the weather is going to be nice so we can sit outside.
I've checked the Bridlington weather for Monday and there is one big sunshine sign on the forecast so it looks good. We went last year and liked it so much we decided we wanted to go again.
I do feel sorry for you all with poorly hands. I do get pains in mine but I think it is years of typing on old fashioned typewriters and16 years of scanning on and off on a till. When I first started working there my Dr. came through and watched me then he said 'That looks like a very stressful job' I think it is called RSI I don't know if I'm kidding myself but I've taken Cod Liver Oil Capsules for about 25 years which I'm hoping are keeping my joints ok. I think I'm lucky as my hands haven'[t developed lumps and bumps like some of my friends have.

Went out last night and it was great. There was this lovely girl called Kesia on. she was so natural and had beautiful long auburn hair, No piled on make-up or anything. She wore a lovely pale green chiffonney type dress. She accompanied herself on guitar and sang all sorts. Country and western, Irish songs, Eva Cassady, Shania Twain, and lots of singers like that then at the end she did a bit more modern stuff like Amy Winehouse and the like. It wasn't a dance night just listening to lovely singing.
Had a right laugh at the place names Kit. Funny how things mean different things in different languages. I think batteries in French are called Piles (only pronouned peels)
Off to make a drink now so you all have a good Sunday and hope the weather's good for you all.
see yer later 'gater(s) :-)

yes, they are promising a realfeel of minus 8 here in a couple of nights; I'm not sure I believe it as it's been very nice the last couple of days. I do not want any more chilblains. I have very mild RSI after years on the keyboards, Jude - I was okay with the first keyboard they introduced at work, but they later changed it and during the training session something went ping in my neck, or possibly bonk, and it's been a bit twangy ever since, though nothing to complain about. But I'm not surprised if you get the odd pain. But I expect all the jiving keeps you supple!
How to greet us at lunch time sweedie? Well "Aye up mi ducks" will do nicely for anytime of the day... keep it in mind in case you bump into any of our royalty.
Yes Jude, it's been lovely today but definitely no tender plants outside just yet, leave them another 3 weeks-ish to be safe & even then we could be caught out.
hahaha...I've spluttered srdns all over the place at jno's left handed potatoes. I've used a peeler like this for years

I'd always used a knife before but for some reason, injury maybe, I can't quite remember, I had to try a peeler. I love it, it was cheap, you don't need to apply much pressure, it peels really thinly...and it works in both hands!
I'm sorry to hear about your painful ailments and their posh sounding names but I'm afraid I can't allow any 'pen' holding of knives... tut. I s'pose in this day & age of Americanisation, pizza & take away food it's a wonder anyone young knows how to use a knife at all.
My legs ache like hell today... there's no effect on my spud bashing but my grape treading weekend's off.

Nooooo..not that spud peelers torture instrument Robinia :)
I tried one and couldn't get to grips with that either .My spud ended up about the size of a pea after I'd hacked round it and I took the skin off my knuckles .
I just can't hold the spud and pull that gadget over it .They make it look so easy on the tevee ,these cheffies when they use one .I've got a similar thing for peeling carrots which is good though .
.Mr S is just cack handed if you ask me .He'd make a good cook cry . Good at boiled eggs and opening tins and that's about it :) When he retired he said he was going to take up cooking .I'm still waiting........ seven years later .
It's turned really chilly here now and we've put the heating on .

Sitting here wondering how jno fares with the coolie hats. Reminded me of one of my favourite children's books, Porker Finds A Chair http://i44.tinypic.com/2rptanl.jpg It's for really young children and it's hilarious. Porker finds a chair but he doesn't know how to use it. A number of passers-by instruct him but he always gets it wrong even though he *does* follow their instructions - for instance for the image above the instruction may have been "place your bum against the round piece of wood".
There's another children's book by the same author/illustrator, Where Is My Sister, it'll be out in English in October, get it if you know any children, get it get it get it, it's sheer magic. It's as good as Good Night Moon and then some so that's saying a lot.

yes shaney, it's been chilly in the house all day, it was warmer outside. I know what you mean about that peeler, my mum had one & the only person who could use it was my brother. The secret with it is don't press on, just slide it over the veg & let it do the work...you can see daylight through my peelings! haha
