'that lady in Frost'? ....tut...well that narrows it down. Do you mean his lady friend, Christine? Her name's Phyllis Logan... been in lots of things

help! I'm permanently knotted into an apron...and it's got Ibiza splashed across it....oh the shame
Yes that's the one robi, she was the posh totty in Lovejoy! Now why on earth would you have an apron with Ibiza on it, we don't work in kitchens here!!!1
Aye up me possums (hope I got that right;-) how are we doing. I saw my plaster caster yesterday and that was the most sensual experience I've had in a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. Talking of course about the procedure of having the molds made for my orthopaedic insoles - I actually liked it ha ha! Hope I enjoy the actual insoles as much as I did the molding:) I'll get them in a week and then it takes another three weeks for the feet to accept the new regime. Keep your toes crossed for me will ya.

Robi I had "scurvy" once and it was because of my new toothpaste, so if you've been trying a new brand that could well be it.

Thanks Neti for the historical sayings, very interesting, I bet some of it is even correct;-) Certainly good stories in any case:)

My Facebook log-in page was in Norwegian yesterday, now doesn't that seem to you as if Skavlan is trying to make contact with me? ;-)

Norwegians https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQQUJlJZp_Y (Lots of funny dancing in this vid Jude)
Now, I like Simon Cowell a lot but he says "I thought you were in-DUL-gent" 108 times a show and it's so annoying to me cos I don't quite understand what he means! Dictionaries aren't any help in this case. Please enlighten me, what does the man mean?
Ah yes that:s the one Robinia .Tom Courtenay and the lovely Albert Finney .
Angela Lambert wrote the book .
Indulgent Kit ?
That means lenient or permissive . You know ..sort of allowing yourself to eat chocolate or carrot cake non stop or have your feet manipulated by a handsome man :)
Can't help you with the Simon Cowell context though as I don't watch these programmes .
He he he Shaney not sure about handsome but I was lying on my stomach anyway =:o

Simon says (!) "I thought you were/it was indulgent" as a negative judgement to lots of people just after they have sung and I just can't grasp the meaning of that, in that context. Would make sense to me if he were referring to them having been indulgent during the week and not attending their coaching lessons but that's not it, he refers to the performance as such.
And I don't eat chocolate ;-)
he probably means self-indulgent, which implies that you're more interested in enjoying yourself than doing it properly.
Morning all, daughter has an interview this am so will be chauffering her to the Big city unless it rains then she'll have to get the bus as I hate driving in the rain and or dark.

Joanna's Nile has appeared in the progs site so will be able to watch it tonight. Any others programme suggestions?

Swede to indulge someone is to spoil them or give in to them. ie Mothers indulge their children!
Try this biddies. sit down and raise your right foot and turn it clockwise, round and round, now with your right hand write 6 in the air, your foot will change direction no matter how hard you try not to.
Sorry Kit I don´t normally send you emails like that as I seem to remember you don.t like them. I don´t suppose half of those sayings mean anything to you, I just thought it was interesting for us to know the origins of them!

Slightly overcast here and chillilish!
Morning...
<shivering>... Bloomin' freezin' here it is, Accu says real feel 0C & I'll agree with that, grrrrr...

Ah that explains why I keep having aprons brought back for me from Spanish isles neti, it's 'cos they're surplus to requirements...either that or my friend's trying to tell me something, I've noticed she wipes her feet on the way out.

Yes Kit, I know what SC's saying. As jno said, they're too into themselves rather than making their perfomance go with the actual meaning of the song. I don't think half of them understand the lyrics, haha (says grandma)

Shaney! someone's dissing* Michael Kitchen, quick get over to tv with your rolling pin...how very dare he!!

*I believe it's the word one uses these days, tut

.....and if Amazon mail to tell me there's 35% off Braun epilators one more time....!!! Cheeky boogers, don't they know who I am?
http://www.jarretthou...-content/mrschew1.jpg
nope, I've been away & thought about it...'sensual' & 'orthapedic insoles' just don't go together in my world
You might be right about the toothpaste actually Kit...it's annoying, I can't stuff a whole mini roll in my mouth sideways - a nifty trick I learned from my grandson...hahahaha...
Actually I fell asleep halfway thru Foyle, wasn't too impressed.! <<ducks out of robi's flying fist>>
At least I didn't grow that one Robi! did my eyes deceive me in foyle, there were palm trees in Hastings cos I can assure you that there are not!
What was that film a few years ago with Denholm Elliot (my friend) and Michael Palin about a pig and how they were saving it to eat, during the war, or something like that?
A Private Function, thanks I've found it!
I'm sending you a block of smelly lena neti...think I've made it a bit too thick. Don't say I never give you anything

You might have seen palm trees, they grwo 'em dahn sahf now you know.
