I have a thick, very sticky white substance on some of my conservatory plants. I presume it is from an insect as it doesn't look like mould. I have sprayed it with insecticide but nothing shifts it. Any ideas welcome. Should I get rid of the plants?

It's a quick morning all today. I'm off to meet a cousin I haven't seen for thirty years. I found him again when he was on Radio Derby talking about a book he had written and he happened to mention that his Grandparents lived at a certain shop in Derby and I realised he was my cousin. Got hold of his number and rang him up. He now lives in Canterbury but is in Derbyshire on holiday in Ashbourne.

Vinny I remember all those theme tunes. I still like Dr. Who (don't care what anybody says) and the Pathe News (Pearl and Dean) tune is still played in our local cinema. Lol. The worst part about the lift was that I was sat at the front going down scaaarryy!!

See you all later maybe.

gooood morning pale & interesting people! hope you're all well.
oh neti, still not having a very good time eh? don't stay away just come on in & have a grumble. It's amazing how therapeutic this little gathering can be.....& you can always have a laugh at our white bits, which seems to be the whole of us at the moment.....mmmm, I see Vinny's got an interesting trellis effect where his string vest has been.

I'll give you fruit & nut case Vincent....you've been very busy with that lot. I love the theme from Dr. Who & the Likely lads is still one of my all time favourite tv progs.....love the one where they were avoiding the footy scores.
Can any of you remember Love Story? (dramas from the 60s not the film) the music was absolutely lovely but I've never found it.

Favourite all time ads have to be guinness Surfers & Horses, (got the music on comp) & the recent Bravia ad with the balls....I watch that over & over, it's so hypnotic.

looks like another lovely day in store....have you seen how hot it's going to be over the weekend?....we'll all be moaning about the heat next....

hi Jude have a good day, I forgot to refresh the page after going through Vinny's choones & you'd sneaked in & out.... :o)

Just clocking in to tell you I've had a brilliant day. My sister and me went to this farm just outside Ashbourne and met our cousin Martin. We sat talking for 4 hours by the river and caught up on what we all decided was about 33 years of what had been happening to all our families. Just brilliant to be in touch again after all this time. ( They did give us lunch of course). He has written a book about the history of the passport. Sounds very boring but isn't. But then I'm biased. 2 of his other books are called The trouble with France and The trouble with Spain which are an amusing read. Well that's me sounding off now I'm off, see you tomorrow after work.

Should have said hope you've all had a good day.

Goodnight x

evening all - what a lovely one it is too, the swifts have been screaming round I think they're happy that summer seems to have arrived. I know it has 'cos I'm covered in mozzy bites :o(

just heard that my new grandbaby is hopefully going to be here in the world on Friday! (caesarian) It's reasonably certain that it's a boy but there's always room for errors & guess what name is on the shortlist....? James! others are William & Thomas...think we'll have to place bets...

glad you've had a lovely day Jude - if me & my sister got together with all our scattered family it would take a year to catch up.....we've got 14 cousins that we know & there's a chunk of family that became separated for whatever reason. Familes did some strange things years ago....I suppose they still do.

phew all this fresh air makes you tired....

I do hope all goes well Robinia for your grandchild ..thoughts are with you ..my eldest son is a James so he will be in good company ! Take care xx

Morning Folks.....Hot Again..think I need another trip to ibiza to cool down...!! hope everything goes well with the birth robinia....james- vincent..........!its such a lovely name to choose for a baby boy he he..!!robinia goes out on the town to celebrate...

Cheers Vinny. The picture looks just right, except that I ain't blonde any more!!! I love the outfit.

I have just made three postings on the Ageist thread, thinking I was on Biddiebank. Oh, the shame of it!!!

Lots of Best Wishes to you and your family, Robbie, for the safe arrival of James/William/Thomas - all lovely good old fashioned and traditional names. Why not Wayne Elvis Brooklyn! That would be even better.

I have just realised that the picture was meant to be Robinia - the dogs had me fooled. Well the Robinia we know and love has certainly put some weight on lately!!!!!

I now know why you were making a quick gettaway Vinny!!! You realise, of course, that they were the postings I put in the wrong place. You've flound me out!!!!

morning all ....
crikey! who turned the gas up?! casting clouts like fury & flinging windows open....think we'll need hosing down by lunchtime. might be storms this afternoon tho'.

thanks for your messages, it's my son's birthday on the 14th & we thought baby might be the same day but they want to do the op a week early.

gessoo what shall we do with you? must admit it's something I've almost done a couple of times but luckily spotted it just before I hit submit....I think we need a uniform so people will recognise us & point us in the right direction....

summer version

just picturing Vinny in that..... hahaha
