My internet has been down all day and I had to have a long and involved conversation with an Indian gentleman ..I gave up and passed him on to my son and between them they managed to sort it out . I was nearly having withdrawal symptons !!

morning - what am I doing here at this hour you ask? well, I have heat rage that's what!
I love the warmth & the sunshine but this is waaaaaaaay too much, expecting 35C here today. (which always means you can add on at least a couple of degrees to account for reflection heat etc.) I was up at 6 cos charlie was unusually scratching on the door (he sleeps downstairs) to find he'd poo'd all over the floor....poor lad. He doesn't seem too poorly in himself so I hope it's just the heat & not anything worse. The gardens not had a rain washing for ages now & we get lots of foxes & cats leaving horrible things about.....grrrrrr. Sorry if it's put you off your weety-pops.

Poor Charlie ..I expect it's the heat Robinia....Shane doesn't like this weather ..He spends most of the day out in the corner on the patio on the stone where it's cool .I put rock sulphur in his drinking water to cool him down.

hi both - lovely place that shaney for keeping cool. I used to go down to the river a lot when I had a big dog ....usually came back with some tremendous insect bites. I see your temps are a bit less than ours on either side of the country......we're cooling down (?!) to 29C are we? I'd like the 22 degrees better 22/23 is perfect.
Been to do some quick shopping - no cakes tho Vinny sorry, grabbed a vienetta instead. everyone was nice & fragrant today...they must have been giving carbolic away free. Saw a couple of friends who've had the same prob with their dogs too....fingers crossed they all get better soon, they look so pitiful when they're ill.
on a really cheerful note my sis works for a funeral company & it's the busiest it's been.....haha what a little ray of sunshine I am today!

Afternoon Biddies Bit warm innit!? Been to work and am not going to do anything ales (type error - rather appropriate so I thought I'd leave it)! all day except the watering of my garden! Have had to shut my front room curtains as the sun is full on in there all afternoon.

pshaw, here it is past midnight and I am still having the maidservant spray me with Magicool. This really is hot. I went off to Portsmouth today and the train was delayed, said the driver grumpily, by a drunk on the line. (They had to switch the power off to remove him.) And when I got there it turned out they stop selling tickets to the Mary Rose at 4.30 - in midsummer. So I didn't see it. Pah.

morning all - sooooo much cooler at the moment, but looks like the sun will be out again by lunchtime. I've even opened cupboards to cool them down, sounds bizarre but I was amazed how they hold the heat inside.
Charlie is brighter today, hope he stays well. He was so poorly yesterday, but about 6 he finally had a good long drink of water & started to pick up. He slept last night more than me!
jno I missed you by minutes last night. Sat by the open window until 12.15 as there was a lovely cool & strong breeze coming in. Trouble was, when I looked up above the lamps there were about 200 midges dancing round....now have to go & start wiping the squat marks off the wall, windows & sills. Spots are fashinable this season tho, might leave them until they fall off.

It's now getting decidely dark and gloomy here although still stiflingly hot .....I hope it pelts down ..my garden is like the Gobi desert !
Just had to run out and get me bloomers in ..thundering in the distance.
I think we should start a band....Vincent Sprout
and the Biddyettes .
