The only mystery is why it actually took them so long - despite frequent advice as to how they could easily satisfy their desire to chunter without troubling AnswerBank - to do it. On second thoughts, maybe it's not so mysterious after all!

I lost the whiffEy name a couple of weeks ago. Just went to lunch, came back, and it had all gone. Every single post I had ever made. I waited a week in case it was a robotic lock-out which might reverse itself, then I contacted the ED, nothing, then again, nothing.

There was nothing unduly controversial going on at the time either. No warnings, just gone. If they want rid of me, why have they not deleted the current whiffy user as well ? Same human being behind it.

Does this site actually value and want to retain its members ?

In all fairness whiffey and crete I don't suppose the site cares whether a few members leave, others will soon take their place.

The forum as a whole is hardly likely to fold because approx 20 folks do the majority of their posts now on another site.

B00, I haven't left though. I am questioning the complete lack of interaction and information. I still don't know why my user was deleted. All posts, every single last one, disappeared, and there is nothing by way of explanation. How long does it take to type a couple of sentences in reply ? It's not as though I have contacted the ED more than 2-3 times in over 2 years.

Well if your pointing out that the site doesn't appear to care about it's users individually, I'd have thought you'd been a member of here long enough by now to already know that it doesn't, and why should it?

It's members probably run into thousands, and if a members decides to throw it's dummy out the pram and move on, not saying you or anyone in particular has done, the site will stick tick over as usual.
