Publishing another aber's home address on this site

One of the members who has chosen to use the blank id, (not efc) is the same person that used the greenie id during the week to post my full home adddress on this site. can i suggest that anyone who does know who this person is, suggests to them that they are really really overstepping any marks this site has left, i know it is sinking to new lows with each passing day, but this is now going too far.

if anyone replies to this with any derrogatory remarks towards me, or posts in support of anyone publishing members addresses on this site, i will take it that they either are the person doing this or are supporting that person.

i am off out for the night and so i will not be able to read any responses until maybe later tonight or tomorrow, i actually expect a load oif 'I told u sos' and abuse from those who seem to delight in having a go at me,

I have often posted questions and answers anonymously on this site as have many others in good faith in order to help others. ( and occasionally a hopefully humorous reply)

I would be outraged if any personal information about me was to appear here.
I have read and respected many of your answers Dot, and fully agree with your comments as I believe many of the regular visitors to this site do.

Hiya Dot as you already know I was disgusted and appalled when you told me about this. Let's hope ED can sort this out and maybe try and find out this persons ISP Address. I think in this case ED and her team should give it a try.

It's one thing to call someone names.....but to post their Home Address on an Internet site, well that's another.

I'm not on here all that often Dot so I didn't see your address being posted , nor any of the subsequent comments following this happening but I am just curious to know exactly HOW this person got your address in the first instance. Is it someone you know who has over stepped the mark ? Whatever the case , I agree that it is bang out of order and I would be most unhappy for my personal details to be divulged on here - or anywhere for that matter without my full consent. We choose how much information to reveal about ourselves and have the option of using an ID unrelated to our own name to shield our true identity , so for someone to divulge such sensitive information about you on a public forum , without your consent , really is a poor show and this person should feel thoroughly ashamed for this serious breach of trust.

dot, No doubt you'll read this tomorrow. Just in case you think it's me who posted your home address I want you to know I have no idea where you live. I admit to posting someones else's address as no doubt many are aware but only because I,along with others are fed up of him wishing cancer etc and even death on our family's. I also admit to threatening another Ab'r but that was in temper as, that night she and her cronie's were all blasting me so I blasted back. You know who I mean. As for what went on prior to that regarding that same person, I did what I did as I thought I was being used by you. As far as Im concerned thats over and done with. Im not ashamed for posting the other things address but, as I've said, I dont know yours and would have no reason to post it anyway. I hope you find out who it is but ,dont depend on the Ed or Techs re ISP's. They only tell you ISP's can't be traced. Complete and utter rubbish!

they know my address because they have used their work related online sources and accounts to gain the information that is freely available tyo people to pay, if that makes any kind of sense, one then has to wonder, why they would bother, and one then has to think, because they have no life, and one then has to pity their sad lonely obsessed and futile existance, and then one has to wonder, are they a potential threat and then one has to look at their choice of passtime and think, huh, not hardly. lol

Fair enough the ed can not give out ISP's under numerous legal acts, but I see no reason why she can not name and shame all the same names using the same ISP's. Hardly any breach of confidentiality, especially if written with a disclaimer that the users MAY be different people sharing the same ISP.

Who was that pr!ck who kept having a go at you about your wallpaper a few months back.

Find out who it is, and I will have his or her eyes.

However, as I said, only one person on here makes illegal threats and compromises home security. For all she knows I may have a wife and baby at home.

Glad you know who I am now dot. The reason for all my names changes? Each time a certain person realised who I was he would start the abuse. Despite many of us mailing the Ed and Tech team he's still with us and allowed to carry on abusing people,sometimes with backing from his fans even some of them are getting fed up with him now. Fran , if you don't mind me asking , HOW eaxclty do you get other user's home addresses ? (Not that I wish for my own address to become common knowledge of course) I am quite alarmed by this and didn't think that it was possible to do so but my best friend told me that she recently received a bouquet of flowers from a guy who had traced her from the net. I hought that perhaps she had given out way too many personal details but she swears that she hadn't. I feel a bit uneasy about the fact that people can trace others so easily.
