i always thought only the police can follow up an ip address and i also think its well neigh impossible to prosecute someone for threats made on a website, imagine how many websites there are all over the world on the world wide web all sorts of things are typed on them 24 7 it is logistically impossible to follow up on them and prosecute
" i am going to kill you" (usually spelt badly) is probably typed i would guess a thousand times a day on a website, equally i could post "ashley cole is gay" on here would i be prosecuted for slander? no of course not
absolutely raymondo and i think what some people forget is how daft this place would seem to a well balanced individual ( of i am not one) the police resources are thinly enough spread without following up the ravings of some drunk idiot at 3am in a bedsit above a bakery with a slightly yellowing net curtain billowing behind him
no im bed at 11pm these nights weeal i honestly could not stand on my feet the next day if i kept the hours some people do on here, besides i dont have a net curtain :)
I agree with raysparxs comments a page or so back. You may be able to trace and IP/ISP address but there it would be nigh on impossible to prove who actually did the posting.
