I should imagine she/he does see 'em- just because they get removed from our sight (by users) I wouldn't have thought they'd be removed from their point of view. In days gone by, such posts would be reinstated if they were thought not to be too bad afterall.
I know that doesn't answer why certain users are still on the site and seem to get away with their daily abuse of others, if Ed & Co thinks this is ok to happen on a family site I guess the rest of us have to put up or shut up.
Alll removed threads are reviewed in the morning.
Thing is through the pettyness thats developed thru personal vendettas it appears the eds adopted a dispose of them policy.
Well the same sad people would only report them again and again and again.
I suppose its a majority thing.
Sometimes we can think were in the majority , when infact wearent.
4get i think you mustve missed my earlier post
it doesnt matter how many ids youhave
go register nowe
unless youve been an established member you cant report threads
i have 3 ids
and only 2 give you the option to report
i think its down to number of posts and legth of membership
No way ed, just that the abuse and bullying plus vile remarks are rife once the sunsets begin, just be good if you saw it first hand and could rid the site of the bullys and abusers there and then, Ray
That is a very reasonable idea, a bit tough on non-UK members, but if availability was restricted to say 8am-6pm UK time (the "sober" hours) a lot of the really nasty stuff would go away.
Maybe it'd stop the drunken abuse, but it wont stop the nasty posts during the day will it?
I fail to see the problem- surely the staff there at AB HQ know who are the persistant trouble makers are? Stamp those out and it should stop most of the trouble and ill feeling on the site.
AB Ed. An opening closing time would be a new innovation.
Much better to be more stringent and enforce the existing Site Rules. Multiple IDs is probably the most abused activity on here. It gives more opportunity for the 'undesirables' to kick off with foul comments and then do a runner.
sir prize you seem to have missed the report buit too.
AB ED can you explain exactly who and how people can report users threads on here?
i dont mean thru the contact section but directly on the thread?
it may clear up some of the confusion an misinformation.
also i see even daytime there are constant sober jibes
do people only drink after8pm?
if so many pubs in england shouldnt be open now eh?
Yes I am suggesting it, if they really want to ask something desperatly then surely all others topics will cover it. And sorry legend I understand now, but really no point in 2 names so stop people doing this
I don't think opening hours would help. We'd lose some good people that are mostly on at night and I think the fights would just break out during the day instead - it's already happening to a small degree.
If I understand correctly, the 'Report this answer' option has gone to stop people picking on a user name and deleting all their answers. That's fair enough, but isn't it playing into the hands of the trolls. An innocent post can easily get turned into something else but now it's all or nothing - either the whole thing goes or stuff is left up that should never have been on on the first place.
Remember as well folks that although Answerbank is predominantly a UK site we do have ABers from overseas, restricting the time they could log on would be a huge inconvenience to them,
