Last time I asked this question I had loads of fab answers. I've just finish with, We need to talk about Kevin, The time traveller wife(loved it!!!), A prayer for Owen Meany, and one hundred years of solitude(still battling through this a page at a time).

I found Gabriel Garcia Marqez ' "Love in the Time of Cholera" an easier read than One Hundred Years of Solitude.
For an easier read you could try Zadie Smith "On Beauty",
"Shadow of the Wind" (can never remember the author!), Michael Cox "The Meaning of Night" or for something very strange try "Kafka on the Shore" by Haruki Murakami.
I've just started Susannah Clarke's "Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell" which is supposed to be very good.

I really enjoyed How Not To Talk To A Widower by Jonathan Tropper.
