Does anybody know the rest of this lullaby?

"Do You want the stars to play with?

or the moon to run away with?

They'll be yours if you don't cry"

All google has come up with is an album by a canadian indie band!!

Thanks

Morning all. Cooler today but still lovely. I have to go to Morrisons!! :o(

Since we have been on this thread I keep meaning to say that the lullaby in the original question brings back such fond memories. Mum sung it to me and I sang it to Master LL. Such a lovely lullaby.

Mr LL has gone off with dog around the fields. We had 'words' this morning and I think he has gone off with dog to get his anger out of his system. MEN!!!!!

Enjoyed the garden yesterday. Was emptying pots and sifting soil and preparing everything for planting some pretties for the summer. Most of the daffs are over now, but still have some beautiful narcissi in flower in loads of places. The cherry blossom has started to open. I love this time of year.

Glad you enjoyed your evening of culture Neti. I can't say I have ever wanted to go to a ballet, but I would probably enjoy it if I went. A rock concert is more my scene'cos I am uncoof!!

I went to the opera once - never again!!! I don't like musical theatre either generally or musical films.

But I love music!!

Will see you later.

my cherries are full out. I've got a gean that has self seeded all over the place and now the saplings are about 5 feet tall and in flower as well, i haven't the heart to uproot them. the scent is amazing. In one corner i have a winter cherry that flowers on and off from november to april and a multistem kanzan type which is now supposed to be naff but i love it. There are violets everywhere and the bluebells are just colouring up. camellias coming to an end now but the roses are starting to show bud. I can never decide between spring and autumn for my favourite season.
a'noon...intit luvly?...I've done a few odds & ends & I'm just having a sit down & a cuppa... washing's dry so now it'll become a pile of ironing :o(

I love my cherry blossom, 'specially when it's as it is now, some open & some buds. I wish it lasted all summer long. I hated when it fell when I did my own mowing but the mowerer has got a beast of a machine, it picks all leaves & twigs up no problem. I have to keep out of the way. :o)

We all love music...don't we? and I like this at the moment, just been on't wireless.

I love opera, rock concerts, ballet, but I am coof!

So jolly hot here, unseasonable! We ate in the little village of St Gertrudis, where i had calamares a la plancha, which is squid doen on a griddle thing. Lovely. Tried to sunbathe but too hot without the pool, have sort of convinced Mr N that a quick lick of paint and then fill the pool would be welcome.
Oh btw, Mr N says you may all borrow our daughter if you want to see what it's like to have one!!!

Do I get the cute sunglasses and the hunky DJ as well?
Ha ha woofy, in your dreams!!!!

Am chatting to Ballet de Moscu on FB and they are coming back in August, so will have to be here!

oh Neti don't you have posh friends!!
I have half cleared off the pilates machine, which is covered in christmas decorations which can't go into the attic till i have sorted the attic, planted a dozen pansies and put my tomato seeds in.
Well if jno can go to Royal Wedding, I can chat to Ballet du moscu! and I've been there, so feel I am entitled !!

Have put some washing on as I am bored. Mr N watches sport on tv all sunday (apart from lunch) hija is out with friends and I am stuck sat here (I love grammar) in bedroom, trying not too eat and nibbling all the time!
Pilates machine? Is that that thing on which one stands and it does it all for you, can I have a go please????

you can stand lie or sit on mine but its blooming hard work. It is magic for my knee and back though when they play me up. DH feels the need to work his muscles a bit so i said I'd get it back into use.
Do you mean toning tables? you lie on them and they move?
I'm really toned up yer know ..after a scintilating hour or two spent going round B&Q with my son looking at power tools and gardening stuff. I've come home with a pruning saw.

"if I dig this bit out here Mother you can grow some veg " ...."Yes ..hmmm. i'll think about it "

Before my very eyes he's dug out the old lavender bushes, which had gone all leggy and a scrubby ceanothus that has seen better days, massacred another bush ,filled a massive builders bag with all the diggings, mowings and stuff and gone clutching his egg ,sausage and bacon pie :)
Oh to be young and fit again .
Lovely day here .Hope you are all OK xxx
Everyone (including Picky) has been working happily in the garden then (except Neti!!)

Took this this afternoon (The cherry just about to burst forth in on the right hand side of photo)

Side garden which is opposite our front door, which is at the side!!!! Complicated I know

We have been revamping our front garden which was looking dark. Have removed a tree and planted a new piracantha hedge in front of the screening you can see. Its only about 15" high at the moment!!!. The house is that of my friend and neighbour over the road. The fence at the side separates us from the trolls!!!

Just going to clear the kitchen and feed the animals before doing a bit of ironing.
Ribeye steaks for dinner tonight!!

Off to Norwich tomorrow early. Going to have some gold jewellery valued.

See you in the evening.

Lottie i want your garden....will post some pics of mine tomorrow.
lottie, beautiful gardens, so fresh looking, I love them. I will not be posting any pics of my scrubby bit of land!
looks lovely, Lottie. You are lucky having high fences - we are not allowed to go over about 6ft, which doesn't keep foxes out (though we don't have trolls), so we have to nail trellis along the top.

We had a flowering cherry once, but it was a martyr to blackfly. I used to go out twice a day and kill them by hand, a dozen or more each time, but they always came back and the tree never did flower properly in five years; I had to pull it up. And the neighbours planted a pretty little pyracantha against the side of our house on the boundary; but he died and she became disabled and it grew two storeys high, blocking her light, clogging our gutters and threatening our foundations. jno jnr had to go round and saw it down (with her permission).

Oh, I see your temperatures are going down to 10 later this week in preparation for my return. I do hope Kate wears some sensible damart to the wedding, these old churches are so hard to heat. Email instructions arrived here yesterday: "Please proceed to Buckingham Palace..." I should point out that they are not for me, I will be hiding behind the sofa waving my republican flag..
Thanks for your kind words about my garden.

I take care of the planning, flowers shrubs and aesthetics, Mr LL does the heavy work (but I do some to) and the veggies. He spends his weekends tucked away behind our little orchard in the greenhouse on digging veggie patches. Our garden has several areas and you can't see it all. We meet up for meals!! A good arrangment!!

Yes pyracanthas can get out of hand and need to be kept in check.

Jackdaws have built a nest in our chimney. No more fires until nesting time is over!!!

See you tomorrow evening.

Night Night xxxx
Bah, all this talk of plants is unnecessary! Am off to sleep, perchance to....you know the rest. Night night all x
