Anything by Robert Goddard,his earliest ones are the best.I have loved all Kate Mortons too.

Polly - I was disappointed with Kate Morton's last book - the Distant Hours, but I loved her other two.
All of my Haynes manuals.
Dragons of Pern, never tire of the books, and hope Todd carries on in his mother absence

I agree firewatch all the Pern novels and The restoree ,by Anna MacCaffrey also I loved White Teeth by Zandie Smith I laughed and cried its a brilliant book. I am also with those who Love Peter James the Roy Grace series and Perfect People. I also like Stuart Macbride.

Ooh. Just remembered another one - a must read. 'The Hare with Amber Eyes' by Edmund de Waal. It is a history/biography of his family and it will break your heart. I'm filling up just thinking about it.
Has anyone read Barbara Erskine's books? Not in the league of the classics – but I recall reading one whilst sitting under a palm tree in Kenya in 100 plus degrees heat – and having goose bumps up my arms. Chilling!
