As a punishment a man is condemned by the gods to roll a hogshead of porter up a steep hill. When he eventually reaches the top it rolls down the other side and he has to start all over again. So what at first seemed a minor thing turned into a life sentence.

There are so many of the goodly unGodly in R&S that a fraction of them would make light work of pushing a dray load of porter barrels up the steepest of hills. In contrast, apart from Goodlife and my good self, the believers there are as rare as any endangered species. It's only fair that we supervise the descents.
Tilly, we'll not call it a gang. How about a pilgrim band? And we could do our first practice barrel roll up the steep and rocky sides of Croagh Patrick, a modest mountain of 2500ft in Mayo in the west.
Some of the more devout pilgrims climb in in bare feet, but there's no need for us to go to such extremes. Anyone who wants can wear their socks.
