As a punishment a man is condemned by the gods to roll a hogshead of porter up a steep hill. When he eventually reaches the top it rolls down the other side and he has to start all over again. So what at first seemed a minor thing turned into a life sentence.
Anyone know where this story can be found?

More likely the devilish patron of toreadors preventing you from seeing the gory horrors of the corrida.
I saw a bullfight once, in Seville, just to see if I liked it. I didn't, and I haven't done it again.

It's odd that people can see animals being tortured and then stabbed to death as entertainment.
it can be elegant and stylish, like a sort of ballet performance. But it hardly justifies the carnage. And of course they go to great lengths to ensure the bull loses, so it's not a "fight" in any sense (to be fair, that's just the English name)
