Sometime last year I posted a photo of a beat-up old clock I received. Here are before and after photos (actually, it looked worse when I got it than the "before" photo). It is an English "Smith-Enfield" 30day time and strike movement housed in a Canadian "Walter Clock's" case. It's happily tick-tocking away right now.

Are you sure that's the same clock, stuey! ;-)

Amazing job, it looks wonderful.

I forgot to mention its age: its from around 1936.
Lovely job stuey. Nice clock!
That's impressive.
Fabulous job, what a skill you have.

Thanks, glad you like it. Walter's Clocks in Toronto used to import English and German movements and "marry" them to their own cases. Obviously WWII put and end to their importing, but they started up again in 1947.
Fantastic job you done on that clock stuey, clever ole stick aintcha!
clever boy stuey ! xx how are you doing ? not seen you around for a bit ?
that's very impressive stuey. well done you.
That's excellent. You have quite some talent there. What got you into the clocks?
WOW!

How did I get interested in clocks? Years ago, my parents-in-law were throwing away a pendulum type clock that "didn't work anymore", so I took it home; got some books from the library; tinkered around with it; got it working; and it went from there. Here is a clock I put together for a young relative's upcoming birthday. I can imagine the questions: What's a record?; What's 45 RPM mean?; Why are there grooves on it? Who are Barbara Steisand and Neil Diamond? etc. etc:)

I am frequently asked in shops, "What's an ounce?"
Question Author
You used to be able to buy some really mellow stuff by the ounce, Obiter:)
Fantastic !
and you don`t play me love songs ....lol......very very nice stuey, have another from me when you cross the field !
The thing is that if I ask for a lb. of something they know what I mean, but if I ask for a quarter, or so many oz. they don't. Apologies to those who may not understand the abbreviations.
